PostSubject: The Kitchen   Wed Nov 17, 2010 5:05 am

Description:
Set up in the same manner as a highschool cafeteria's kitchen, the one housed within the Ferdinand Lioux Orphanage is kept immaculately clean and stocked with food. Stainless steel refridgerators and other appliances line the wall standing in tasteful contrast to the dark marble (imitation) countertops. In the center of the kitchen is a small island outfitted with a sink, garbage disposal, and cutting board. The floors of this rather large room are simple off white tiles.

============> Meeting Room 1

With the departure of Hellsing's pet vampire and Maxwell's silent declaration of war, Father Alexander Anderson had been blessed with a bit of time to himself. The crusade would soon begin and Anderson would undoubtably be sent to some far off battlefield miles from Rome. With that in mind, Alexander resolved to spend his remaining time wisely and in a manner of his choosing. He would spend these next few days caring for his orphans, his first and most loved charge. After a warm welcome from the children and the nuns which had looked after the building in his absence, the Paladin retired to the kitchen to prepare dinner for the orphans.

Throwing his heavy cassock over a nearby chair and rolling up his sleeve, the scottish priest made his way to the island and grabbed a large bag of vegetables. With his other hand he grasped a kitchen knife, not as intimidating as his bayonets but certainly sharp. His deft hands worked quickly and efficiently, slicing the various vegetables into uniform chunks. Within moments a mound of dices potatoes lay on the cutting board only to be seasoned with spices and bits of bacon. Those potatoes would be a nice side dish for the children at dinner. Placing the tray containing the potatoes in the oven, Anderson set the timer and moved on to his next task, skinning the carrots.

Roukostu leaned against the doorway of the kitchen smiling, "now that's a great way to cut food, I should try it sometime...how are you Father Anderson?"Roukostu asked stepping forward, she looked behind her to see, if Lee caught up with her, of course he was no where in sight of her, "I swear...he needs to stop being slow..." She sighed and looked back at the Father, she looked around the room, "I remember this place very well...before I was adopted...."

Throughout the whole country and even city, this was her favorite place to be, it provided quiteness...well beside the ruckus of the children, but she still loved it, if she was never busy trying to figure out her alchemy, she would come here everyday to read and play with the children, but alass, her brother needed her more, who else would be able to get him up in the morning? She looked at the doorway again, and then turned back to Anderson, "anyways...just came here to say hi...."

=====> Roukostu's Room

Lee tried to let his footsteps move himself forward as he turned his attention to the side as he tried to make sure to carry himself well. He held the strap that went over his shoulder as it wrapped numerous times around the cross. He let himself come to a slow stop as he looked to see his sister's back. He continued forward but soon came to a stop as he heard her speaking to someone. It must have been Father Anderson. Lee took in a deep breath and slowly let himself almost inch in behind her as he looked down at her, placing his hand onto his glasses and pushing them onto his face with his white gloved finger.

Father Anderson's sharp ears picked up the light sound of the front dor opening. The steps were familiar and within seconds Alexander knew exactly who had come to visit him before they even set foot within the kitchen. He had fond memories of raising Roukostu and Lee fromnear infancy as he had most of Iscariot. They were essentially the old man's family and he could not begin to put into words the pride he felt each time he saw them grown and clothed in Iscariot garb. Though he listened intently as Roukostu spoke, Alexander did not look up from the carrots he was skinning. His hand kept a steady rhythm even as Lee made his presence known.

"Aye, it's good tah see tha two o yea. Cum an make yerselves useful an wash those dishes fer me. Seems tha sisters were too busy tah take care o it fer me an the children will need those fer dinner tonight." not waiting for a reply, Anderson tossed a dish rag towards Lee's face. "Dinae loaf around yew two. Step lively now."

Roukostu couldn't help but give a slight chuckle as she made her way toward the sink, she loved to do anything for Father Anderson, or any of the Fathers and Sisters for that matter, she would help in any way possible, "haha of course Father"she said starting to wash the dishes, she looked at Lee when she was washing, "get over little brother... you have drying to do...."

She looked outside the window, the children were playing, she looked at Father Anderson, "it seems we are in the same team Father...."she said with a smile, but then she looked worried, "I pray for his holiness and the others well being...."she said washing a dish, and then handing it over to Lee to dry.

Lee simply listened to Father Anderson as he started to speak and he couldn't help but look away and smile brightly to himself. He then looked back just in time to have his world shrouded in darkness as he paused in the silence as he then let the strap loosen on his cross as it came down and it rested against the wall as his hands raised up and took hold of the cloth as he removed it with a light smile "Yes Father Anderson."

He then looked over toward Roukostu and nodded his head as he walked over to next to her as he placed the rag onto the counter as he removed his gloves and placed them off to the side as he then took hold of a dish and started to dry it. He let his eyes look onto the dish as he dried it over.

The Paladin paused for a brief moment to scoff at the mention of "His Holliness". The hesitation passed a second later and the scottish priest was back to his meal preparations but the unpleasant look on his face revealed the nature of his thoughts.

"Bah, Maxwell's begun tah get in o'er is ead. E should o announced this crusade months ago boot like always e held back. Ah well, is bodyguards are competant at least so e should survive is trip tah england. Careful wit tha' plate Lee. Little Meg dropped it tha other day. Ere's a wee crack in it already so it's a touch on tha fragile side."
Anderson had not even completely looked up from his ingredients to warn Asamotto of the plate, he merely glanced at him from the corner of his eye. With the warning given, Alexander brushed the carrot skins into the trash and moved the bowl of orange vegetable to the stovetop. Steamed carrots were a favorite among the orphans, along with the potatoes they should get their daily does of healthy food. Anderson had prepared a rather indulgent dessert for them aswell. It wasn't every day he was taken from them so he wanted to make sure this last meal for a while would be as enjoyable as possible for his little charges.

Roukostu noticed the unpleasant look, but she said nothing more, still washing dishes she glanced at the food, and the dishes she was cleaning where almost done, she picked up and washed the last dish, she handed it to Lee, "wow...this is amazing...I don't remember this as a child...but then again, back then you were hardly ever away...."

Lee paused as he heard the sound of Anderson and stopped his drying as he looked down at the plate and heard him go on about his thoughts on Maxwell's sudden onslaught and its recklessness. He then paused as Anderson brought something else into the conversation as Lee blinked several times at the plate that he spoke of. It seemed like now it could break at the slightest of pressure. He slowly placed the plate down as he figured that he would make sure to do that one last as he started to take the others that Roukostu gave him, making sure not to press to hard in case there were simular ones in the bunch.

He soon finished with the ones that his sister had given him and put them away as he then picked up the last and turned around as he slowly started to dry it over, lightly "Either way, orders are orders and we have the simple one. Stay put and make sure everything is solid when his holiness returns. We have the home field advantage and its not like we would just let anyone waltz in unannounced. Though...I can't help it..." Lee let his head turn to the side as he looked outside "Its nice to be inside drying dishes instead of moving from here and there being used as a war-doll to be put together after being pulled apart."

Rummaging about in the freezer, Anderson listened to Roukostu's nostalgic sentiments while he searched for the main course. A slight grin tugged at the corner of his lips but failed to spread to the rest of his somewhat grizzled face. Finally finding the turkey which he had seasoned and stuffed earlier, Anderson closed the freezer door and returned to the island. "Aye, yer youth wuz a happier time Roukostu. Boot ere's nutin tah be gained froom livin in tha past. Are tasks are aimed at taday an tha' is tha way it will always be."

The tall priest stripped away the wrappings covering the turkey and moved the pale bird to a steel pan before finally placing it in the oven alongside the potatoes which were nearly done. If his timing was correct they should finish at about the same time. All he had left to do now was wait for his dishes to cook. He crossed his large arms over his barrel chest and heaved a large sigh. "Ah would naht becum too comfertable Lee. Tis only a matter o time afore sum heathen fool makes an attempt upon our Laird's bastion o power on Earth. Tch. Even if we're spared tha' annoyance, Maxwell as already begun tah gather is armies fer his campaign. We'll undoubtably be among tha' lot in good time." slowly but surely, Father Anderson's scowl transformed into a cheshire grin. His pearly white teeth glistened at the thought of the coming bloodshed. While he may disagree with how long Enrico took to order this crusade, the notion of eradicating the Nazis once and for all was definitely to the Executioner's liking.

A shiver went down Roukostu's spine when she saw the grin, "I see...well then...lets hope that his holiness will know what he is doing...Roukostu said looking down, she looked at the food, "do you need help with preparing with any of the food?"Roukostu asked looking at the Paladin with a innocent look. She looked outside again, then toward Lee, "to be honest I would have to agree with you Lee, but of course Father Anderson is right... There is someone from either group that will try to make their way here....."

Lee slowly let out a low breath as he slowly as he looked down toward the plate and then placed it among the others gently "Yes father and I will make sure to show the enemies of God that they should rue the day that they are put to my cross." He then turned his attention over toward Roukostu as he moved his hands up and behind his head as he laughed lightly "Our heavenly father has blessed us with one another and our gifts for the good of mankind. I'm happy for what I have and am will to fight in his name for how generous he has been to me. No heathen or demon could ever hope to compare to my resolve for our lord."

Lee paused in his thoughts as he moved his hands around and took hold of his gloves and slowly started to pull them over his hands as he turned toward the door. He used the bottom of his hand to put his glasses up on his face. He takes a hold of the bottom of the gloves with his teeth as he pulled them tightly onto his hand as he then used the same hand to pull the other glove securely onto his hand as well. He walks over toward the door and takes hold of the handle.

Moments passed into history and eventually he pleasant scent of cooking meat filled the room. Taking his que, Father Anderson opened the oven door and removed the food within. The turkey was a golden brown and the potatoes had been cooked to perfection. Inhaling the delicious food's smell, Alexander set the plates down on the countertop to cool a bit. Without responding to Roukostu or Lee, the tall man cracked open the window of the kitchen and called out to the sister playing with the orphans in the back yard.

"Sister Mary Clarence! Dinner's joost aboot ready. Ah'll haff it on tha table in ten minutes." he called in his iconic scottish brogue.

Turning back to his fellow Iscariots, Anderson washed his hands before replacing his white gloves and eventually, his long grey cassock. Standing there in his full Iscariot attire once more, Father Anderson presented quite the intimidating image. However, his eyes were filled with kindness. Well, at least until he heard the faint sound of footsteps approaching the door, footsteps that were entirely unfamiliar to him. Immediately, his mood shifted from caring guardian to cold assassin. Depending on what was on the other side of that door, it could very easily lead to an explosion of divine wrath. That was the last thing Alexander wanted to do in front of his beloved orphans.

Roukostu quickly placed her hand on Father Anderson, "now now....I'm sure it's nothing Father, it's probably my apprentice...even though she should be bothering the others besides me...."Roukostu said as she looked at the door, to be honest she had no idea who it was, but she didn't do anything, she just stood there not knowing who it would be.
